Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Sahajjo collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Sahajjo is operated by ilmine Technologies (“we”, “us”). It applies to this website, our waitlist, and the Sahajjo app, and it should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

On this website and the waitlist

When you join the waitlist we collect:

• your name and email address;
• your phone number, if you choose to give one;
• whether you plan to join as a client, a helper, or both;
• your city; and
• your preferred language (English or Bangla).

We use your email address to send you a confirmation and, later, launch and early-access updates.

When you use the Sahajjo app

• Account details — your name, email address, and password, or your Google account identifier and basic profile if you sign in with Google.
• Profile and content — your profile, the tasks and listings you post, offers, messages in chat, photos and files you upload, and ratings and reviews.
• Verification information — identity (NID) or credential documents you submit so you can withdraw earnings or take certain job categories.
• Payment and payout information — transaction records, and the bKash, Nagad, card, or bank account details you give us to withdraw earnings. Payments for online jobs are processed through our payment gateway.
• Location — the job location or area you enter, and map-related information needed to show jobs near you.
• Job and dispute records — the history of jobs you take part in, and the messages and evidence submitted in any dispute.
• Technical information — basic device and connection information, and the details needed to deliver notifications to you.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website stores two small preferences in your browser’s local storage so it remembers them on your next visit: your chosen theme (light or dark) and your chosen language. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.

How we use your information

• to create and run your account and the Sahajjo marketplace;
• to connect clients and helpers, and to let them chat and agree on jobs;
• to process payments, hold funds in escrow, calculate commission, and pay out withdrawals;
• to verify identities, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform and its users safe;
• to review disputes and decide fair outcomes;
• to send you confirmations, service messages, and notifications about your account and jobs;
• to respond to your questions and support requests;
• to improve and maintain Sahajjo; and
• to meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed:

• With the other person on a job. To make a job work, clients and helpers can see each other’s profile, ratings, messages, and the files shared on that job.
• With our administrators. Authorised team members may review verification documents, job records, and dispute evidence to carry out verification, support, and dispute resolution.
• With service providers. We rely on outside providers to run Sahajjo — for sign-in, hosting and database services, media storage, payment processing, email and notifications, and maps. They handle information only to provide their service to us, and their own terms and privacy notices may also apply.
• When the law requires it. We may disclose information to authorities or others where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Sahajjo.
• In a business change. If ilmine Technologies is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of it, and we would tell you if your information would become subject to a different policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Sahajjo to you. After that, we keep only what we need to meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms — for example, payment and commission records or the record of an open dispute. Waitlist details are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correction. You can view and update most of your information in the app, or ask us for a copy of what we hold about you.
• Delete your account. You can delete your account from Settings → Account & data. Some records may be kept afterwards as described under “How long we keep it”.
• Waitlist and emails. You can ask to be removed from the waitlist or to stop non-essential emails at any time.
• Questions or complaints. Contact us any time and we will respond.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@sahajjo-bd.com. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting on a request. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under Bangladesh law.

Keeping your information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including controlling who on our team can access it. No online service can be completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — please keep your login details private, and tell us right away if you suspect someone has accessed your account.

Where your information is processed

Some of our service providers operate servers outside Bangladesh, so your information may be processed and stored in other countries. We work only with providers that we expect to handle it with appropriate care.

Children

Sahajjo is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Sahajjo after an update means you accept it.
